During the four years 1975-78, we studied the ecology of carrion-feeding birds in the uplands of Central Wales. The Buzzard Buteo buteo was one of the species investigated. Most of our observations were made within a defined study area, about 35 km from north to south, and about 13 km east to west, in the southwestern part of the Cambrian Mountains, between Devil's Bridge and Rhandirmwyn in Dyfed.
