Nestled along the River Alt close to the town of Maghull, Lancashire & North Merseyside, lies my local patch: Lunt Meadows. Just six years ago, the land – like much of the wider area – was used for agriculture. The area was purchased by the Environment Agency in 2014 and management passed to the Lancashire Wildlife Trust: Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve was born.
