The contents of a pellet collected from a Brown Shrike Lanius cristatus on Fair Isle on 13th October 2019 (Tyler 2020) were analysed. The analysis showed that the identifiable remains were largely hard fragments of beetle exoskeletons (table 1), in particular weevils.
