There is an irony about the photograph of a Lady Amherst’s Pheasant Chrysolophus amherstiae used in News & comment in the January 2021 issue (plate 1, p. 4). The bird shown should really have the non-eponymous name ‘Phoenix Pheasant’, thus avoiding any contemporary complications.
