On 13th November 2019, at Bramfield churchyard, Hertfordshire, we were surprised to observe Jackdaws Coloeus monedula feeding on Yew Taxus baccata berries. We had never seen this before, despite frequently watching birds in churchyard Yews over very many years. Later, reviewing the literature, we found that Yew berries are not mentioned in the list of food items taken by Jackda
