The Namaqua Dove Oena capensis is found in south and east Africa, on Madagascar and in Saudi Arabia, ranging up to 20°N. According to Cramp (1985), the Namaqua Dove breeds within the West Palearctic only in the extreme south of Algeria, with vagrants reaching Morocco, Mauritania, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait and northern Saudi Arabia.
