Behaviour of Golden Plovers in strong wind.

On 16th November 1968, during gale-force winds and rain, I visited Stithians Reservoir, a bleak and exposed locality near Truro, Cornwall. At close range for about two hours, I watched a group of about 800 Golden Plovers Pluvialis apricaria inside the confines of the reservoir.
