ABSTRACT A review of records of British rarities in the eight years from 1950 to 1957 has been carried out by a subcommittee of the British Birds Rarities Committee (BBRC). In total, 126 records of 67 of the rarest species and species pairs were reassessed and 71% of these were considered good enough to remain part of the national record.
