The DNA sequence of the Sennen individual (AR01) was identical to two sequences from A. rufulus rufulus, and very similar to another from A. r. lugubris, identifying it as a Paddyfield Pipit. That the sequence was identical to those of two A. r. rufulus suggests that the Sennen bird was of the nominate subspecies.
