Blue Tit feeding a Great Tit brood

On 15th June 2017, in Tammisaari, Finland, in the transition zone between a forest and a clear-fell area (c. 60є00’N 23є30’E), I found a Great Tit Parus major brood in a rusty iron pipe among birch Betula, poplar Populus and spruce Picea saplings. The pipe was pointing upwards, leaning slightly towards the northeast, approximately 1.1 m high and 0.1 m in diameter. The nest was located approximately 0.7 m deep in the pipe and contained seven chicks, judged from their plumage to be around 11–12 days old, which were begging loudly.
