It was very disappointing to read the recent account of our work on Hen Harrier conservation in News & comment’ (‘Hen Harriers – good news and bad news’; Brit. Birds 112: 427). As the Natural England directors responsible for this work, we are writing to offer a different perspective from what we consider to be inaccurate and unbalanced comments in the piece.
