Amongst Victorian ornithologists, Henry Seebohm was a prominent figure, but after his death his contributions were frequently overlooked. However, in recent years they have come to be more widely recognised, most notably in Tim Milsom’s Henry Seebohm’s Ornithology, published in 2020. Now, thanks to the efforts of Paul Hobson, we have a further appreciation of Seebohm, which documents not just his ornithological achievements, but also his personal life and his career as an industrialist.
