Higher risk to swans from lead poisoning

The health of swans in Britain is being affected by lead poisoning at lower doses than previously recognised. This suggestion comes from new research by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT) and the University of Exeter. The study investigated levels of lead in the bloodstream and found they were related to reduced body condition of Whooper Swans.
