Keep an eye out for ringed Barnacle Geese

Three populations of Barnacle Geese Branta leucopsis occur in the UK, two of which are entirely migratory coming to the UK for the winter months from their breeding grounds in either Svalbard or Greenland. The third and smallest population is made up of naturalised birds, resident in the UK all year, most of these being found in England, with smaller numbers occurring in Wales and Scotland.
