Bird flu continues to spread

Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) has continued to spread through seabird colonies around Britain, causing a worrying number of deaths and leading conservationists to warn that it will take years for some colonies to recover.

HPAI has recently been confirmed on Grassholm, Pembrokeshire, home to the world’s third-largest colony of Northern Gannets Morus bassanus.
