Abstract
Observations associated with a recent national Honey-buzzard Pernis apivorus survey in Britain during 2020–21 (Clements et al. 2022) have given novel insights into the behaviour of juvenile Honey-buzzards in the short period between fledging and their departure for their wintering areas in Africa. At several sites where successful breeding occurred, we were able to continue regular observations until the juveniles had left. The sites where observations took place were in Highland, central Scotland, Sussex, Kent and the New Forest, Hampshire.
