Starling takes Shore Crab as food

On 15th May 2020, I was watching a Common Starling Sturnus vulgaris return to its nest in the roof of my neighbour’s house in Milford-on-Sea, Hampshire. With my camera ready, I managed to take a clear photo of it and the food that it was carrying. My photograph clearly shows a Shore Crab Carcinus maenas, which can be found along the shoreline just 300 m away. The image shows the Starling flying away from my camera towards the house with the crab in its bill.
