Wood Pigeon nesting in a suburban garage

At midday on 4th May 2021, I entered my open-fronted garage in Knaresborough, Yorkshire, for the first time in several days. I was surprised to find a Wood Pigeon Columba palumbus sitting on a nest built on a timber rack at about eye-level at the back of the garage. I was expecting the bird to clatter off the nest, as the species often does when disturbed, but it stayed put.
