On 16th August 2023, I passed by a Kittiwake Rissa tridactyla colony located on the windowsills and ledges of shops on Prince Street, Bridlington, Yorkshire. Kittiwakes have nested here for many years, despite the use of ‘bird spikes’ and nets to deter them. Most of the Kittiwake nests were empty, the birds having departed at the end of the breeding season.
