1. Taking out a subscription
Taking out a subscription means you can look forward to receiving your copy of British Birds through your door every month. If you take advantage of one of our special offers (when available), you will save money compared to the normal subscription rate. Subscriptions to British Birds can start at any time during the year and new subscriptions can start with any issue.
2. Ordering a subscription online

3. Confirming your subscription
You will normally receive an e-mail confirmation of your order within 2 business days by automated reply from the website.
4. Delivering the first issue of your subscription
After your order has been processed, your issues will be delivered monthly, usually in the first week of each calendar month. Your issues will be sent through the normal post and do not need to be signed for. Legal title passes to you on despatch by our distributors.
5. Renewing your subscription
You can renew your subscription online at any time. Go to Subscriptions on the main menu and choose Renew Subscription. Follow the instructions to complete the forms on the page where you will be asked to confirm your delivery details and method of payment. If you choose not to renew online, you will receive notification of the need to renew your subscription in sufficient time to ensure you do not miss any issues. If you pay by Direct Debit (which is cheaper), your renewal is automatic and you will receive a renewal notification advising you of this.
6. Notifying your change of address
You can e-mail, fax or telephone us using the details on the Contacts page on our website.
7. Cancelling rights and refunds with regard to your subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time. If the request to cancel falls outside the cooling off period referred to below, your subscription will finish with the last issue paid for by that subscription.
For a refund on either a new or an automatically renewed subscription, you have the right to cancel your subscription contract within the first 14 days cooling off period from the date when the contract is formed between us by our acceptance confirmation of your order. Otherwise, refunds are only made in exceptional circumstances and shall be at the absolute discretion of the Editor whose decision shall be final.
8. Subscription prices
Prices are displayed and payable in pounds sterling and include delivery costs and taxes (where applicable). Any discounts to the normal subscription rate will also be explained. If you pay for your subscription using a currency other than pounds sterling, the price you pay in currency will be dependent on the exchange rate of your bank or credit card company at the time of payment.
9. Ordering a subscription for delivery to an address outside the UK
You can receive your issues anywhere in the world served by normal post. As the issues are despatched by airmail from the UK, higher delivery costs apply for delivery to addresses outside the UK. These are displayed in the subscription prices summary. The prices displayed include delivery costs and taxes (where applicable).
